Congratulations to Senator Frerichs' General Assembly Scholarship Winners

Heather Duitsman- A 2005 graduate of St.Joseph-Ogden High School, Heather will be a junior majoring in Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Heather is a volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Champaign County and a mentor at Prairie Elementary School. Heather's family lives in St. Joseph.

Nisha Santhanam- A 2007 graduate of The High School of Saint Thomas Moore, Nisha will be a freshman majoring in Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Nisha took first place in the uneven bars at the USAG State gymnastics meet in 2006. She coaches gymnastics at the Champaign County YMCA and lives with her family in Champaign.

Stephanie Henry- A 2007 graduate of Westville High School, Stephanie will be a freshman majoring in Family & Consumer Sciences at Illinois State University. Stephanie was active in Relay for Life and received best of show awards in 2006 and 2007 at the Vermilion Valley Conference Art Show. Stephanie's family lives in Westville.

Mason Blacker- A 2006 graduate of St. Joseph-Ogden High School, Mason will be a sophomore majoring in Law Enforcement with a minor in Spanish at Western Illinois University. Mason is does philanthropy work with Campus Students for Christ and serves on the Student Judicial Board. His family lives in St. Joseph.

Jami Davis- A 2006 graduate of Armstrong Township High School, Jami will be a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jami is a James Scholar at the U of I, is a youth baseball/softball umpire, and coaches t-ball. Her family lives in rural Penfield.

Spencer Pokorski- A 2007 graduate of Rantoul Township High School, Spencer will be a freshman majoring in East Asian Languages and Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Spencer has assisted with the Cubs Scouts and is a National Merit Scholar Commended Student. His family lives in Rantoul.

Staci Engle- A 2007 graduate of Westville High School, Staci will be a freshman majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Illinois State University. Staci has been active in student theatre at Danville Area Community College. Her family lives in Westville.

Roveiza Irfan- A 2006 graduate of the University of Illinois Laboratory High School, Roveiza will be a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. In high school Roveiza was on the soccer team. Roveiza's family currently lives in Urbana.
